this summer was a great summer.

I mean, like all things, there were highs and lows. Luckily, I'm able to look at it with a positive aspect and now I'm seeing all the great things that happened. It was an adventure. I like adventures.
I went to Stratford to see a play. I went camping, I had a few trips to the beach. I went swimming and shopping and had lunch in an Italian restaurant. I broke my camera and got a new one. I got caught in the rain, went shopping for clothes and read a dozen books. Now that summer is over and I start senior year tomorrow, I can look back at the great summer I had. I Skyped with Annabelle for the first time, and started this blog. There were some things that I was reluctant to do but did anyways, just to find out that it was amazing. Learning to overcome fears was a big thing this summer, and I like to think I made a dent in that, and I'm proud! There's still a long way to go, but there's still next summer and a hundred after that.
I love you all!

I hope you all had amazing summers, too!

Summer reading!

I love to read. In fact, I adore reading. And summer vacation is the best time to sit down outside with some iced tea and an amazing novel. I've been making a list of the books I want to read throughout this summer, and might be doing reviews of them on here, depending.
Anyways, this is my current to-read list, in no particular order:

1. Mark Zusak's The Book Thief
2. Charles Dickens's Great Expectations
3. Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 (re-read)
4. Micheal Morpurgo's War Horse
5. Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan trilogy
6....

But I still need more to read, does anyone have suggestions for me? I'm open to all genres. As well, what books have you read this summer/do you plan to read? I'd love to know!

summer things #2: campfires!

I adore campfires. I love sitting out at night with a bunch of family or friends, roasting marshmallows and just chatting. The night is always cool, but the fire is warm and everyone is always such in a good mood. I love summer because we end up having so many campfires! It's like the world is quiet but lit by the flames and it's just lovely. Some of my favourite memories have been made by campfires.

Do you have any campfire memories?

summer vaction has begun! (photos)

1 - at the Bluewater Bridge, looking into the United States.
2 - the french fries at the bridge are the best!
3, 4 - spent my Sunday making strawberry jam with my mom.
5 - I picked up a new book! I haven't read it yet, but I've heard good things.
